Howdy everyone, I have been mulling over the idea of putting out an Evil Genius style game for the pleasure of the forums, but first I'd like to gauge whether there is any actual interest in it.

The game would be rather simple, and very over-the-top. Each player would play as their own 'Evil Genius' whom is seeking to take over the world via whatever means they think is appropiate. Science and the laws of nature are free to be twisted, ridiculious machines can be built, and outrageous doomsday plans can be hatched. Want to take over the United States of America by building a giant robo-Lincoln? No problem. Japan irritating you? Level Tokyo with your own Godzilla-like monster!

As you can expect, the game will be corny, perhaps painfully so.

While I am still hammering out the ideas of how the game would work (with stats and all of that) there would be three main things for you to concern yourselves with:

Minions: This is the number of devoted lackies you have underneath you. Their personality is up to you, heck they don't even need to be human, so feel free to customize your minions to your heart's content.

Infamy: How respected you are in the criminal underworld, and how feared you are by the forces of justice.

Henchmen: These would be your heavy-hitters. Everyone would start with one henchman, who would be your right-hand man/woman/hypnotized-bear-in-a-suit. Like the minions, customize them away. Just remember, these guys are hard to get, so don't lump them in the same category as your expendable minions.

The game would be set in the 1960's/70's, so the Cold War is alive and well.

So, whaddya all say? Interesting? Boring? Meh?

hmmmm.
My brains says no but everything else says yes...

Sounds fun, I'd join.

If you want to throw any of those up here for us to have a gander at, be my guest. :p

I was thinking of a blonde russian spy who's real identity is a mystery, leading her plans with her syndicate of lies. I would have to know the mechanics first though to make any final judgements.

Looks very interesting. Count me in if you decide to go through with the idea.

Looks awesome. Already brainstorming some ideas!

Cool, but what do you mean with "stats"? I would think that a game like this would rather more appropriately lean on RP than number-crunching.

That said, I have some ideas for a game such as this; I hope that they can be implemented.

It would be much more RP focused than stat focused, but I need some stats to actually give myself some work and give the players something to aim towards. As for your ideas, feel free to chuck them up here.

Oh, it's mostly just for Villains to RP as.

It sound interesting. Will watch.

Since has generated enough interest to warrant continuing it, I shall post some of the game's information here. More will come as the days pass.

First of all, I shall reveal your enemies, for what is a criminal mastermind if he has no-one to squash beneath his mighty boot? Your enemies are the varied, incredibly annoying, Forces of Justice.

The Forces of Justice

The Forces of Justice represent the main agencies that shall conspire against, and will, if you become infamous enough or gather enough heat, sent forces to your secret base to bring you down! Depending on where you base your operations you will have to deal with one of these agencies, or if you are particularly unlucky, several of them at the same time. Beware, each of the Forces of Justice have a Secret Agent working for them who will be more than a match for your henchman in a one-on-one fight…

The Forces of Just are organized into six different factions.

ARMOR: American Reconnaissance and Military Operations Regiments. – United States led organization that covers central and northern America, and certain nations in the Asia-Pacific.

SALT: South American Liberties Trust – A united organization of the various South American regimes dedicated to protecting the liberties of the regimes there.

EDEN: The Extraordinary Defence European Network: Centred in London, this organization is focused on defending certain European nations from threats to the states that comprise it.

METAL: Middle Eastern and Total African League – Largely pioneered by the Arab world, in particular by Saudi Arabia, this organization is more Arab-focused than African, but covers both regions.

SWORD: Specialized Warriors of the Oriental Response Division – Led by China, this covers the majority of Asian nations.

STRONG: Soviet Terror Resistance and Organized Network Group – Russian led organization that combats unusual threats to the will of the USSR, and its affiliates.

The map key, so you actually know who is who.

Since I still have a leftover channel from my last forum game, the channel #StarWarsGame is hereby dedicated to this game! Feel free to try and catch my attention there, on IRC, if you have any questions and queries.

This sounds quite interesting.

But MEAL? Really? Why not MEAN-pact? (Middle-Eastern and African Nation-pact)

Also, needs to be STRONK, not STRONG

Man, South America is quite SALT-y.
