Party in Power was once a concept I had for a video game - now, I'm turning it into a forum game.

Unlike the original PiP video game idea, this forum game takes place in Europe, where you play as a political party in which your primary goal is to secure control of at least one country politically.

This forum game aims to be as realistic as possible (sorry, but if you start a fascist party I don't think you're going to get very far!)

Here is a party template:

Name:

Starting Country:

Ideology:

More to the template will be added as needed, as well as more information.

Yeah, are these parties created from scratch or ones that already exist? Interested in posting an app once we get an answer.

The Progress Party is a centre-left political party in the United Kingdom. It was formed in March 2003 as a successor to New Labour, which split over controversy surrounding the British invasion of Iraq.

((I don't know the context of the game's start (ie why suddenly we have so many new parties) but the date leads me to think Iraq could be a good catalyst, at least in the UK. If it's okay I'll go ahead and flesh out a history of the party, otherwise I'm happy to go with the flow.))

((I have added a brief party summary too and changed the format, but tried to avoid being formed on the exact start-date to be more realistic. Not sure if it allowed.))
