Gestalt megacorps in the patch coming with it maybe? Considering they mention something about them in the trade changes dev diary for 4.0.

I think gestalt megacorps will be free content, they probably got post poned though for awhile, as I don't think the changes to megacorps are 100% done.

Re-read the post. It's a very understandable misunderstanding, but he absolutely did not confirm anything about it except that their design intention is for the ascension designs to "rhyme." That probably specifically means it WILL be similar to the others, although which of the others is less certain.

Cybernetic, Synthetic and Biomorphosis ascensions all have advanced governments so your authority makes a huge difference. Machine doesn't, but has the most substantial baseline changes regardless of your authority. If the designs rhyme, my best guess is that Psionic is like Machine and will have major branches that aren't influenced by authority.

It could also have advanced authorities, though, not least because the God-Emperor event is effectively an advanced authority prototype already.

Hmmm maybe I did misread it. So 3 ascensions but mechanically different like BIO getting to mix the trees. I don't think psionic will get the mix and match trees, but probably will share shroud atunement system.


I think machines not getting authority changes kinda feels bad, especially since BIO synth did get buff after launch. I wouldn't mind if the government changes were weaker then BIO synths. But it just feels bad to not get anything.

We do know from the steam page psionic ascension will get advanced governments.

It would be cool to see advanced psionic governments; there are tons of possibilities, let's hope they are not all dystopian. Just a "Psionic knights" civic/advanced authority would be enough for me to roleplay Jedis, no moral alignment needed.

I am also quite intrigued about the "rhyme" part as well about the expansion. We will probably not see 3 distinct ascension paths; perhaps we will see 3 possible "stances" towards Shroud Patrons (say, "friendly", "transactional", and "hostile"). But I really do hope that they move away from psionic as the only ascension path, where everything revolves around external entities that you need to submit to.

I forgot one thing, more hero ships like the class 4 behemoth. Ships that got abilities that they can activate before or during a fight. Think like a flagship if you will or if for example the chosen one makes himself into some kind of psionic avatar to fight etc.
