Hello and... sorry in advance for my english.

EiC is a featured game on Matrox's Surround Gaming site, and the images there are a great "bait" for everyone interested in multi-monitor gaming, be it through Matrox TripleHead2Go, Ati Eyefinity, SoftTH...
http://www.matrox.com/graphics/surroundgaming/en/games/supported/eastindia/#close

Unfortunately the actual game (fully patched, with or without the Directir's Cut pack) does not quite behave as depicted there:

Strategic view, interface On: pillarboxed world...

Strategic view, interface Off: no more blackened side screens... but you can't really play until you press 'g' again.

These interface issues really hurt the gameplay on triple-screen displays. Playing on a single monitor means no less 3D and no broken UI...

There are also minor glitches that further demonstrate how the whole interface "layer" does not match the actual display:

-Tutorial boxes on the left screen (should be on the center screen)
-Minimap glow on the left screen (should be on the center screen)
Notice how the 3D spans nicely all over the display: no blackened side screens in tactical view - with the interface On !

So, a couple questions/requests:
Will you fix the interface issues in multi-monitor modes ?
Are there ways for users to mod/fix the interface by themselves ?

The game should work better than your screenshots show. We use triplehead configuration when showing off the game at events etc. Strategic view should be in three screens with GUI. Thank you for reporting the issue, we'll look into this.

Meanwhile, you could try to experiment with different resolutions or try use a different patch, for example v1.06 (aka patch 3, found here).

Thanks for your reply ! It really made me want to get to the bottom of this.

It turns out I was at least partly mistaken: the 'TripleHead' features do work in the Impulse version of the game, although they were apparently missing in the GamersGate version (the one I tried first).
Differences between my two games:
-Impulse: multilingual install, v1.06.
-GamersGate: french only, patches 1.01, 1.05 and 1.06 have to be applied separately. (I tried them all one after another, but maybe I screwed up somewhere in the process...?)
So, I'll have to reinstall & test the GG version carefully. Hopefully I'll be the only one to blame for the false alarm. :eek:o

In any event, I can now confirm that East India Company DOES have outstanding support for triple-screen displays. Great stuff !
