In original CK, there were 2 kinds of courts: yours and every other one.
This created either overflow of information when you got events, inheritances, childbirths and all other stuff from every court in the world or total lack of information when you suddenly discovered that grandson of your current vassal is your new vassal after the old one passed away half a year ago and the new bugger is planning a revolt eyeing the next kingdom...

Basically, the problem being finding important information from irrelevant ones.

So, i propose a bit of a change: cut courts into 5 types with different flags for events and information:
1. your court
2. your liege and vassals
3. vassals of your vassals and other feodal lords with same standing as you (ie other dukes in service of the king or other counts in service of duke etc)
4. rest of the world
5. courts of interest (designated by player, for example the nice count in the next kingdom where monarch is weak and old fool is about to die and leave his 3-year old toddler as a heir- you know, just the kind of county you want to eat for lunch if you only knew when to strike; or court of another king or your rival or whatever you deem important)

This way, you can control the information and can sort out valuable ones without getting spammed by new children in Alexandria and changes in Greek counties when trying to gain control of Ireland.

I do as well. A most excellent idea. I would add, having a separate panel for each type with a history of say 500 messages would also help a great deal; that way I can keep one open and at my leisure switch tabs and review the other ones.

Another awesome game, TEW/WMMA games have a "shortlist" option where you can flag something of interest and so you can filter out "the rest of the world".

In addition, once flagged to your shortlist, you can search and filter based on "the rest of the world" and just your "short list".

Finally, being on your shortlist allows you to receive messages of note, like that the rule has died etc.

Would really like an idea of creating a "court" or a interface, where the player himself could the countries or courts of interests, have genereally felt like that was needed in the EU3 games as well...

A very good idea. I would also like to see information about the courts with whom you and your dinasty are related, as I figure you would be more interested in finding out how your daughter is faring at her new husband's court than about what's happening at the court of a forgotten vassal count in Estonia. Daughters and sisters married away could also send their own reports on how things are shaping up at that particular court, including news of upcoming campaigns or other intentions of their husband and liege. Sure, if found out they might risk losing their heads for that.

That would be so awesome as it would really enhance the intrigue and subterfuge aspect of the game.

Love it

Would be a good idea. Some order in the information interface. If I need to know exactly when the daughter of the neighboring duke with good stats turn 16, so she can marry my nephew, I don't want the information lost, due to a spam of messages from the Seljuq- Norwegian war.

This is vital.

Ohnono, courts from Estonia should by default provide you more information then your own court and you can't change that! :p

But i like the idea... only thing is that AI doesn't plan, it reacts... so poor lieges and husbands don't know what they're doing. If it would work... it would give a whole new meaning to strategic marriages...

Hmm- how about a situation where you can't good info unless you have some moles in another court. Be if your sister married away, some spies etc. And plot your intrigue skills against the other rule- and if you fail, you might end up with very wrong information. Like you think the other chap has 2000 troops while in reality, his army consists of one-armed man and his dog.
