Hey folks,

Just wanted to let you know that we are looking into the multiplayer issues, but currently there is not eta on when we have the problems nailed down.

Something that is important to note, is that the servers that are/not shown are region based, so if you are trying to find a server that is not in your region, that might be the reason.
What are these regions? Also why are there regions? Many of us play with friends from other countries, to lock players out from their friends in another country in this day and age is archaic and ridiculous. Frustrating to say the least.

Just to make some something more clear, the region locking is nothing we can do anything about, as it is handled by Steam. A easy workaround for it is to go to your Steam settings and changing your country for the region you would like to play in.

As for what the regions are, I do not have it in my head at the moment.

It would be neat if your current region was displayed or even possible to change in game so that you could figure out what is happening and why though...

Understandable, and even though "I" do not think we would be able to do that solution (Steam being Steam), I'll take it up with the devs to see what they think about it.

Really? That's strange, never seen any of my other steam games have any region restriction as far as playing MP goes. The more you know :).

As for the game I was trying to play when I posted, turned out the no password and send invite was indeed the fix required. Do we have an idea when a patch will fix this issue?

Btw: Awesome game :-D

After some reading (this thread helped a lot) I managed to solve my problem. I had user-created folder in my Stellaris directory which was causing the multiplayer issue. Make sure to delete all folders/files you put inside Stellaris directory before you try multiplayer. I also disabled all mods, verified Steam cache and enabled DLCs. Works like a charm now.
