Heh, that interview is strangely reminiscent of how I was introduced to Paradox Interactive.

I had been a Civ fanatic since Civ I on DOS. Civ IV got me very interested in the user created mods and scenarios, especially the WWII mod included with one of the expansions. After plaything though the mod several times with several nations, I began to crave a more indepth WWII strategy game. After some quick research on the internet, I discovered the WWII Grand Strategy market was dominated by two franchises, Making History and the Hearts of Iron series. HoI III had just been released and Making History II was still in development, so I picked up HoI III and was introduced to the world of Paradox through this forum.

I haven't fired up Civ IV since that day!

I used to be a Civ fanatic... but since i've discovered EU1 and 2 a few years back, i play nearly only Paradox games (getting my wife angry about the shelfload of games collecting dust :p). But i do enjoy a CivIV game every now and then..(like once or twice a year :D).

I was a Civ/Total War guy, then from the Total War forums I was introduced to EU2, and have been a P'doxite ever since. :D

Trip rules. I was always jealous of his cool Prussian avatar and wished it was in-game. Little did I know he was a Civ developer. :(

I hoep you didn't feel too out numbered between me Tegus and Doomdark.
Not at all. :) You guys are a great crew. Getting the chance to meet with you all was one of the highlights of my trip. I even managed to run off for an hour on Friday to hang out with Johan in the Paradox booth for a little while. Upon returning, predictably, I had about four PR directors wondering where I'd gotten to. :D Looking forward to getting together again sometime!

Nice to hear that my two favourite game companies are getting along so well :D

Got started with Civ1 on my Amiga and have followed the series since then, I'm looking forward to no 5.
