Hello,

I have a mac mini running 10.7.4, with the Intel HD 3000 video card.

When I run CK2 through steam, it crashes during the startup (randomly it seems at loading history, or sound) and when I check the console I get the following

1/06/12 10:52:26.684 PM ck2: invalid drawable
1/06/12 10:52:26.684 PM [0x0-0x72a72a].ParadoxDevelopment.CrusaderKings2: 2012-06-01 22:52:26.682 ck2[2916:1203] invalid drawable

I also have HOI3 that works and plays fine through steam, so I dont think its a paradox/mac issue.

Any thoughts/suggestions? Any idea when a patch is coming out for Mac?

Cheers

John

The Mac game does not currently run on the Intel HD3000, due to the poor Apple OpenGl driver for that card. The published specs for the game are:
Video Card: ATI Radeon HD 6750 / NVIDIA GeForce 320 / NVIDIA GeForce 9600 or higher
Now Paradox have said they'll look into updating the game to work on that card, nothing guaranteed yet though. Meanwhile you can either play the game by booting your Mac into Windows via Apple's Bootcamp, or via Wine.

I'm having the same problem. Only when is crashes only states "ck2 crashed unexpectedly" and gives me the options: ignore, report or reopen. I don't think its my Mac because when I download it on my brothers pc it has the same result.

... in that case it's not the same problem, as the OP's issue is due to an unsupported video card. Please start your own fresh thread with full problem and system details, thank you.

Thanks for the quick response. Got the game working through playonmac. Bit disappointing that there is no support for the Intel card, but I understand the OpenGL support from Apple is to blame (or lack thereof).

Weird how Hearts of Iron 3 works natively, but this doesnt...

I will keep an eye out for a patch.
