The advantage of IR is not the content, but its underlying framework.
Why can't IR add scripts?
Close EU4 and add the 1444 script.
To succeed VC2, the 1821 script was added.
My computer runs CK3 with 90 frames. There are 75 frames to run IR.
But running EU4 only has 20 frames.
The underlying framework of EU4 is too old, it was released in 2013.
Why not combine IR and EU4.

I heard that the development of IR stopped, and tears fell.
In order to let more people feel the charm of IR, I purchased an IR STEAM activation code at my own expense.
Its source is completely legal, but it can only be used once.
If you have not experienced the charm of IR, please use it.

This activation code can only be used once, and may have been used when you see it.
If this post gets a reply, maybe I will release more activation codes.
These activation codes are all legally purchased by me at the local STEAM store.

Is it this one in the steam workshop?

Yeah, probably. I even found the discussion on their discord about it:

"SP — 03.03.2021
how is the game running?
smooth or

Neferata — 03.03.2021
no, extremely slow lol

SP — 03.03.2021
thats worrying

Neferata — 03.03.2021
playing speed 1 feels like playing speed 0.5
thats how slow
moving around the map is slow too even when paused
granted I dont have the best pc, but I've played more intensive mods in other paradox games (imperialism reinvigorated for EU4 being the biggest and laggiest with their TON of tags) with less lag than this"

From the description of that mod:

"Performance wise GE seems to handle pretty well so far, though there is noticeable lag when leading countries with hundreds of provinces. However, this lag completely vanishes when playing an OPM so I suspect this might be something present in vanilla as well."

If this is true then it seems that the increased number of provinces in itself doesn't cause much lag. I'll see if I can try it out for myself later.

Of course most of the processing power would be gobbled up by pops and relative calculations, then new countries and all that relates to them...

The point is: It doesn't seem like added more provinces and thus more pops causes much of a slow down on its own. The game only slows significantly when all those additional pops are owned by the same country.

(Or at least that's what it seems like based on the description. I haven't gotten around to testing it yet.)

I assume that happens because the palyers country is less simplified. The AI will probably get some simplified calculating on the pop level to save processing speed.
