Quite a few years playing and quite a few hours…..Quite too many. The case is that playing with monarchical Iran, I reach the age of 41 and barely have an army. About 17 factories and another ten military and practically nothing about aviation and zero about navy. But the worst isn't that, you simply don't have population to grow and nuclei, arrive too late. With 12 million population little you're going to do.

The tree doesn't help either, the first year and a half you spend getting factories, to avoid civil war. The next three, removing you impediments and you no longer get neither manufactures nor anything, Nor even can you spend political power. No decisions to be made beyond the commons. And four regions obtained by focus, they're not cores and have almost nothing of value.
.Just removing the -20 stability of the rebel regions is 140 days of three focus.... That by doing it very well, you can get it at year 40. There is another focus that gives you access to other economical, but also gives you a -0.50 weekly stability for a year….Yes, a year.

The army you can barely touch, but seeing the spotlights, they're not going to give you much either. In summary, it's boring and the spotlights very poorly done. In Finland, you also know you’re going to be attacked, but it gives you means to defend yourself. Bonuses and a small but mighty army. Not that it's a challenge either, with barely 40,000 you have manpower left after getting two whole armies….. Puts a panorama of boredom defending and little else.

And yes, in the end I'm sure I win, the ia, we already know that sooner or later it leaves you hollow. Pear or not is fun and the tree an absolute deadbeat.

I used a translator, if something is not understood I apologize

Iran is definitely challenging (as it should be, for a minor that historically collapsed in 6 days). Took me half a dozen restarts to finally get a run where I was able to grab all the achievements. I had a lot of fun with it though, once I figured out a build (and RNG blessed my foreign relations)

you can hate on the tree, but honestly you get a lot more then previously with the generic tree. Those 4 provinces are in my opinion amazing from a strategic point of view being able to get a supply depot down that deep makes conquering Afghanistan a lot easier. With 2 focusses you can get extra construction bonusses on said depots and the 2nd gives (the left one) gives you the most crucial ones. Irak provinces give more steel and aluminium for free and the bigger border which you want to invade Turkey. Feudal and Anglo debuffs are not that bad, you can get rid of them later. And what happened about building up your nation 1936 - 1939 is meant for that.
And since when does every expansion needs to be cores... like spending 210 days to get 3 mil factories prefer that? Instead you can get 3 in half the time with extra's.

Turn off the dlc and play without see if you prefer that.

I don't know, I'm in the year 40, England has taken Iraq. And I don't even have an army to cover the entire border with the allies and Russia. I only have 10,000 manpower left. And I don't see any way to improve it or get more irregulars.

In short, I'm about to quit and try the fascist side to see if I can do something.

I played ahistorical; I imagine a historical run for Iran would be less fun since UK & Russia will invade together
i took Iran with afghanistan and joined axis. both uk and ussr attacked me. that made sense.

what did not make sense is that after repellind d-day for the germans and with barbarossa still ongoing, germany first kicked me from the faction (???) then declared war on me (with no justification notification). i presume this can happen to iran as well.

there are a bunch of problems with that interaction. that nonsense made the game take ages. i joined the only remaining faction (co-prosperity). germany got re-dday'd and died inside half a year (idiots). dealing with the 3-way war was pretty annoying, in no small part because of how the game cheats with naval supremacy.
