The rule of thumb seems to be about two or 3 for every one in EU, so maybe 15?

15 provinces would be cool.

Imagine, all game you could play in Ireland and suraunding only, and still to have alots posabilites to expand.

Celtic empires here we come :)

hell yes! :D :D

I would love to conquer England with both Ireland and Scotland.

Well then which of the 355 dynasties are in I wouldn't have a clue even though I am an expert of Irish history.
5 sugestions
O'Donnels Rís of Donegal
O'Neils of overlord (Kings) Ulster
O'Neils of Meath overlord of Ireland (High Kings)(As different as Spanish and Austrian Habburgs)
Mac Morroughs Overlord(King) of Leinster
O'Mallys of Mayo

What about O'Connor or is that too late for period, I forgot?

Good question, another thread speculated Irish provinces should be named after famous local dynasties. I'd say they should stick with geographical province names.

Dublin
Waterford
Limerick
Leinster
Ossory
Meath
Ulster
Munster
Kerry
Connaught
Tirconaill

I'd be interested to know how Ireland, Wales, Pomerania and other geographically fragmented areas are going to be dealt with under a dynastic system, maybe there's a 'tribal' level of organisation similar to natives in EU2.

Well, I think they'll have the larger powers as 'soverigns' over highly independant vassal counts.

I'm fairly sure the MacMurroughs are in, and will start with Leinster and Dublin at least because historically they briefly held Dublin just as the game will be starting :D Whats unknown is whether you'll be able to claim the title "High King of Ireland".

But yes, Ireland should be loads of fun. Not only do you have the island itself, but the Norse kingdom on Man as well as the Isles to expand into to start a maritime empire :D

I want to go at it the opposite way, play as the Isles and rebuild Viking hegemony over those wayward lands, culminating in a NeoDanelaw and the extermination of the bastard Duke.

Bloodaxe will rise again!

Ah I can see it now the great Irish armada! Maybe they can take on Swabia in an all out naval battle for supremacy of Europe!!

Even better, boatloads of beered-up Gallowglasses arriving in the Holy Land, and the Irish Crusader-States.
