I bought a new laptop a few months ago, and I've been having a constant problem with CK, in the middle of my game, no matter which state I'm using, etc. the game will crash to the blue screen of death with the following message : IRQL not less or equal

This never happened on my old machine which was weaker and slower than my current one. My old machine was Windows 98, the new one is XP with a 256 MB video card, over a GB in Ram, and a 1.7 Ghz processor. I have CK 1.04a

How do I fix this, I'm tired of having my games interrupted by this problem.

Sorry my friend but that is hardware related and denotes a major problem.
Usually with the CPU overheating or Bad memory.

It is strange that you only get it with this one program, maybe you play it for long periods which overheats the CPU?

Here is one of many sites on the problem.

I just turned on CK, and went to pick up some things, after my game loaded, the blue screen plus IRQL error came again, I assume the game wasn't running for more than 3 minutes, plus I hadn't even begun the game, I mean the intial help screen was still up.

Don't know what to tell you to explain it then?
But if you read the link, which is just one of many, if you run a search on it.
You see I am not making it up that it is hardware defect related.

This is a problem that has to do with access permissions at the kernel level of Windows. A kernel level process (or device driver) attempts to access memory for which it has no permission. Most likely you have a faulty device driver for some part of the system (9 out of 10 times this turns out to be the video driver). Or you have a spyware/malware/adware/virus infection and said piece of software is running amok.

Since it's CK you have trouble with and not vicky, chances are that it's your video driver. CK uses more images (all those coats of arms) than Vicky does.

Look here http://www.microsoft.com/resources/...Windows/XP/all/reskit/en-us/prmd_stp_hwpg.asp for a more detailed description.
