I am asking if this game is still in developement, or completly abandoned as for now?
I reported an issue in 2023 for the pantheon disapearing, and it still didn't got fixed so was wondering. Not a correction (it just happened again) but not even a way to get around the issue (if it is impossible to solve i mean, i can understand but some feedback would be helpful if someone still develops this title)

We are getting a DLC in both Q2 and Q3. Both of these DLC are highly likely to be accompanied by a big update to the entire game (as all previous DLCs were).

We also know the devs have ideas for a 3rd season of DLC.

So no, it is far from abandonware. It might seem that way because we're in between DLCs at the moment. I expect to start hearing from the devs again in march.

I see the devs responding to your issue twice (talking about feedback).
They also said it is not something they can fix, because you or your system probably did something that the game cannot deal with properly.

I suggest looking at the tips from the devs and start from there, instead of proposing the game is abandonware, which is easily debunked looking at the steampage.

Yes indeed, AND the tips did not solve the issue,
Aparently they didn't fixed it since (or at least gave a workaround). As it happened, again today.
I gave all the details, empire files included, to help the investigation. Nothing. So if i choose a "somewhat" provocative title it is so that at least they finally look into it, instead of giving "around" solutions as
"The root problem would be that something either isn't syncing properly with the Steam Cloud/Steam Remote Folder or that something is interfering with read/write actions possibly a AV system?"
And no i am not the only user experiencing this problem (and even if i were, i payed the same amount as any others to get the same bug-free product).
So at least a work around (how to disable pantheon-induced-blocking) to not wipe it for the 4th time would be welcome.
And i get it, softwere maintenance isn't an easy work. sometimes it is hard to reproduce a problem. that is why i gave all the info i could. But working also on software i can't imagine a user accepting the response "on my end it works" (for that particular one, i don't know if Mourioche is or is not a dev, so i guess it is not to be taken as official response ...)

Devs respond in a blue bordered response. This happened twice.

Well, you just need to ship your computer to Norway or whatever so they can duplicate your problem.

If you can:
Try it on a different machine, logging in with Triumph account? Afaik, Pantheon is cloud based or you could manually transfer the file.
Seems like 3rd party software issue like suggested above. Can also try safenoting aow4 to windows and whatever antivirus you use?

We really need the devs to be more active here than on discord.

a few days later the pantheon broke again :'( I just don't even understand why include such a buggy system (and i am not on the same PC then i was before and have no idea how to fix it anymore.

Most of us have had no problems. And for those that did, 9 times out of 10 the problem was due to a mod.

I’m sorry, but the problem almost certainly is on your end, not the devs’. So there’s not much they can do.

It's not the game's fault. It's not a buggy system.
I suggest also looking at your virus software and/or other suggestions by the community.

The "most of us don't have an issue" does not advances my case in any shape, form or order. I am glad for you guys, but it doesn"t tell what i should do differently to NOT have the same problem come back every now and then when i launch the game.

Avast is known to block programs.


Did you try to turn it off and see if that has any effect?

I'll try those if a dev, after analysing the pantheon FILE i put in the bug thread says that he found the cause of the files corruption and it is avast related. (and indicates which file should be excluded, and why)
In the meantime, no official support said that avast IS the problem they just pointed that it might be related. and never taken the time to look more in the detail in the 3 cases i have given from 2023, 2024 and 2025 (each FILE.zip contains a different pantheon case that become corrupted)
