Sadly the community is dead but it seems developers have abandoned the last few survivors :( No more weekly update, increasingly fewer posts on twitter and facebook... anyway there? :(

Best we can hope for is that they are busy trying developing a new game.

I read recently they are working on an expansion called "the other side of the coin".

Where you play as a vampire/necromancer and that necromancers will be added to PVP.
That sounds pretty sick, I hope they're not abandoning this game. Maybe because I'm new and see so much more potential behind an already awesome game. New class to PvP? Sounds good. More later? hope so.

Adding more elements/combos would really complicate things, they dont scale up well if more are added. Its complicated enough if you want to keep spells within 4 buttons q.w.e.r.a.s.d.
Maybe the best way to add new attacks was a whole new class. Still not totally sure how they plan to do that seeing as how if Necros use different elements, how can a mage or necro shield against attacks from the opposite class to avoid being 1 shot? lol. If whatever they do for adding Necros works, then fun! For the first time then they have to really care about "class balance". Since before PVP is inherently balanced as everyone Can do the same things.

So maybe they came up with come brilliant fun way to add a new class, new abilities, new PVE/PVP content into the game and are just working hard at implementing that.

I don't know much about their other titles but I know Magicka sold well over a million copies(1.5?), and their DLC about half a million sales. Sounds successful to me and it seems odd to bail on such success.
I'd hate to see this game go by the wayside. I'm pretty excited about its future.

I hope this is mostly a result of moving office. And so, also moving all personnel. Getting sorted, both professionally and private, in a new location. While working on expansions for the game. But I guess it's also a normal decline of any game, and more so if it's from a small dev. and also (in comparison) small publisher.

Still, I miss the weekly signs of life. As of now, it feels like a bit of "mutual admiration within a small crowd" in here. (not ment to be offending, just a bit sad) Or it's maybe just that I'm no big fan of tweets and facebook.

There is still the occasional tweet going out. Just nowhere near as many as there used to be.
I'm sure things will pick up again closer to the release of teh next dlc/xpac thingy :)

hi,

the devs and we are still alive :)

We've just been crazy busy with stuff. We're doing no less than 4 projects together and they all are eating up tons of time.

It's a bit hard to be active when there ain't a ton that we're allowed to talk about - but rest assured - we've got lots and lots and lots of fun Magicka/arrowhead stuff planned soon.

So what can you expect the upcoming months?

More details on the next expansion
More details on other Magicka stuff
More content!
A brand new Arrowhead game - not related to magicka - but you're going to like it anyway :)

Shams, why the cover up of the horrible news? We all know the tragedy that has befallen arrowhead. They were just settling in at their new offices when they ran out of cheese, their lead engineer volunteered to go up the tower and fetch some more... It's too awful to even say. Poor Bayleg!

Will you make PvP work better to give it some life again? :)

Yes, We will definitely give the game one more big update when the next expansion comes this spring.
