Is it possible to "force" a peace?

I mean, playing as Georgia vs Seljuks my king has already made peace with them after I conquered Azerbaijan but..... a stubborn, hot headed vassal duke of mine REFUSES peace with them so they are still at war conquering illogical provinces (inside the iranian plateau, while the Seljuks are conquering his fiefs in...Ukraine :wacko

So I need pweese to have peace between these 2-... not interested in conquering Persia ( yet) or in losing the Ukraine,,..

I read somewhere that you can put a "truce" status or event in the saved game but is this true? tried to do so but doesn't seem to work

You can open your save game with notepad, search your vassal's name, then copy the text "type = xxxx id = xxxx" then Ctrl+F and paste the text, then you will find all his children, his lands, claims, marriages, friends/rivals and at the end you will find written war and his type and id will be either in attacker or defender, you only have to delete this war. That is if you want to edit the save game. Otherwise you can type F12 then byzantine and then F12 again and another key.

Do you have patch 1.05 installed ?

With patch 1.05, if you as the king make peace then your vassals will also automatically be at peace.

Only when a peace is done through an event, then your vassals will still be at war and you aren't.

I think that if the peace is made through a "pagans are splintered" event, vassal wars will still continue

personally I wouldn't care, as it doesn't sound like you want counties in Persia (which is a good idea, as they will be sources of trouble in the future); just let the war peter out. Further if the vassal does surrender the Ukraine counties, you will have then claims on them, and this means you can restart the war at a time of your own choosing. patience.

also try reloading. sometimes this means that the AI does a fresh take on its situation and so will make peace.

Declare war yourself, hit the F12 key, type in byzantine and select a white peace.

You might take a knock for breaking a peace you've made, but you will quickly end the war.

Remember to type in byzantine again to end the "cheat".

(Then considering revoking the titles of your idiot vassal.)
