Is it possible to mod the abilities? (as in adding more abilities next to martial, charisma, finesse and zeal)

So I want to add some more abilities to characters and change the names and effects of the current abilities to something more D&D-like (strength, dexterity, constitution, intelligence, wisdom, and charisma), but I can't seem to find where the abilities are defined.
Are they hardcoded or are they moddable and I just can't find them?
