New Terrain Map with cool colors

Is it possible to modify the unit sprites in CK?

I would like to use the byzantine units sprites to recreate a tipical roman soldier (with red as main color)

I made a backup copy, then modified many of the index table colors, in Photoshop I see the difference but then............



This is before and after to add some RED to the byzantine sprites

You'll need to edit byzantine.bmp in the gfx/palette folder to have your new palette, otherwise it will just impose the normal byzantine palette colours for each indexed colour you've changed.

No problem. :)

For future reference, each culture's sprite will probably have a different palette file. To check its name, open one of that culture's .spr files in notepad.

:) Reveilled do you know if the same apply to change colors of the Terrain Map?

I mean, I see the difference in the Map Editor Tool but not in the game, why?

I'm sure there would be a palette, but I don't know what it would be called.

There appear to be loads of individual palettes that deal with different aspects of the map. Any one of them could be the terrain map, but unless it's gfx\palette\tile.bmp, I don't know what it would be.
 
WOW ! I really like this map with more vivid colours! I always found map too boring with so little colour differences. If you discover how to implement new map in game share with us your findigs;I would really,really,really like to use it in game.

This is actually good. I can finaly see the difference in the terrain. Not that I will use the terrain map, but still... :cool:
