As I see it, Sengoku looks in a more advanced state than CK2, for example in graphics. The portraits in CK2 still have, apparently, one single font when the portraits in Sengoku have dozens of fonts as I see in the screenshots. The map looks more polished than the one of CK. I don't know if you plan to release this before CK2 and you need to put more work on this but it looks to me that Sengoku is getting more attention than CK. You, the Paradox team, post in this forum much more than in the CK one, when (let's face it) CK2 have much more following and a bigger fanbase. Even you seem more receptive to the opinions, suggestions, questions, etc. related to Sengoku than the ones related to CK2. Well, be honest Paradox, how much attention is getting Sengoku compared to CK2?

We've only seen Alpha shots of the CKII map, whilst we've been seeing the current screens of the Sengoku map. Sengoku is being worked on by Paradox's third internal team (a new one, I believe?), the while the usual "main game" team is working on CKII; all the devs have stated multiple times that CK and Sengoku have been developed side by side in terms of graphics, and that on release, they'll have maps identical in terms of quality. All things considered, I think that CKII is definitely in the spotlight in terms of attention.

No, CKII is the big enchilada. But Sengoku is closer to release.

Well, that's because I'm on this team... :p

No Paradox 'regulars' are working on CK2, so seems obvious.

There's no such division. The number of years with Paradox that Besuchov, Birken and me have compared to Doomdark, Tegus and SolSara are fairly equal, and Yonaz and Aerie work on both projects.

To be honest seeing how both Sengoku and CK2 are relatively close in terms of mechanics such as Character focus I think of it as much more a good thing. CK2 will ultimately be more polished in my eyes as a result of what happens with Sengoku which isn't world spanning like EU3 or Vicky 2. They can use the already vast experience from CK and Rome and use it with Sengoku to enhance CK2 to more than it originally would have been. Not to mention CK2 seems to have a longer development window than usual its a win win situation for the customer as far as I'm concerned.

As for focus, Sengoku is closer to release therefore logically more emphasis is placed on it. The closer we get to the release of CK2 the far more focus we will have on it.

Sengoku gets more screentime right now because it is going to get released this Summer. CK2 will get released next year so there is more then enough time to promote it later.

Don't forget that Johan II is also on the CKII team, he's spending more time coding than visiting the forums though...

That settles it then.

Of the three people mentioned on the Sengoku team, only one actually works, the rest is spamming the forums.
CK II team, on the other hand, is all about working.

:D

I would get this game over CK2, simply because Sengoku doesn't deal in the religious themes. The time period in Europe covered by CK has to be the creepiest, most traditionalist, most macabre period in human history.

I am hoping they will make Sengoku a priority.

Oh snap, do I smell a little bit of in house inter-team competition? eh? eh? :p

Just you wait till Christian missionaries come to Japan :p
I think it was already confirmed that relationships between three religions will play quite a role in the game.

For me Sengoku is a side-project made by a group of renegades who revolted and abandoned the only true and valid Paradox game of past decade - which is CK2. And for a thing like that, Sengoku looks pretty darn exciting. :)

Hope they do Rome 2 in a similar manner after they are done with Japan. Could somewhere around when CA releases their next AI-less dud for some free marketing.

Also:

Which period in human history doesn't fit this definition? :)

But he spends most of his time doing "programmer art"...

We clearly need a fulltime moderator on this sub-forum to deal with this kind of spam...
