I'm playing 1.03b, but haven't seen this on the list of bugs fixed in 1.04a. Somehow, in my game, a pagan got appointed as bishop (head of a bishopric, not diocese bishop).

We have updated our Community Code of Conduct. Please read through the new rules for the forum that are an integral part of Paradox Interactive’s User Agreement.
From the 1.04a release notes:
This should go for pagans too. The fix was to add a check, so that only bishops of the ruler's religion can be appointed.
