So I decided to download the new version on Steam, to continue my campaign with new features. I know, probably not a good idea.

So when I continued my campaign (well into the 13rd Century), all Christians but revolters were Chalcedonian and almost everyone had a -70 dynastic stain modifier.

So basically, is there a way I can go back to the old version?

Depends on how old the version.

You'd have to unsubscribe from Steam, manually delete the mod files it puts there, and then unzip an older version of the mod -- but it really depends on which version you're looking for.
