I've been using the Traffic Manager mod to modify the roads and streets in my city, but it bugs me how the changes won't take effect immediately for the vehicles already in motion. I've noticed, though, that upgrading/rebuilding road segments forces an instant path recalculation for the vehicles yet to drive through them, making them now obey the new lane arrangements I have set up after they started their journey. The downside to this is that the upgraded/rebuilt road segments of course revert to their default properties, so customized properties such as speed limits, vehicle restrictions, lane arrangements, etc, are lost.

So I would be interested if anyone is aware of a mod that lets you selectively force a path recalculation. If not globally, then at least for the vehicles about to drive through a specified road segment. The procedure could be something like: "Press a key (combination) while hovering mouse cursor over a road segment".

But if there isn't one yet, my question is that would it technically be possible for such a mod to exist?

Hmm okay, well; I'd be interested in taking a look at what exactly happens in the code when eg. a road upgrade is performed, but I suppose we don't have access to that information?
