A good skirmish AI would be awsome.
I also think that a small studio should get extra money for the work of an AI. I know how hard it is to build one, we tried that in the university.
But I don't think that it would be a good idea to sell the AI as a DLC.

I would say the AI should be part of a DLC which improves the game. For example a DLC with much more ways to build and manage our dungeon plus the AI for 10 bucks or something like this.

If something like this would happen, I would exactly do what I did with the game: I would preOrder the shit out of it! :D

I refuse this AI ORIENTED DLC nonsense. DLC's like skins n such are for dev support I understand. Artificial Intelligence is core game concept for a games that are NOT PURE MULTIPLAYER and should stay like that and delievered possible fixes/patches for free. If you want to throw your support at devs, you can buy more than one copy of the game or send them your support directly.

Also using GAME PRICE as a shield against "Incompetent AI" argument is unacceptable.

Hey guys, let's not argue on this gloriously Impish day. IF it becomes possible to do something in the way of solo-skirmish play somehow I promise you guys will find out about it as soon as possible. Right now we are very focused on getting the game out the door so that everyone can start building their evil underground domains.

I played some time now and something like a more single player based skirmish there is nothing really missing for me. Sure there are small bugs and problems. But thats not a big deal.
The mouse delay for moving on the map is a little bit bad, there are some things of the interface which could be better but everything not a big deal.

But what I'm realy missing is indeed something like a more single player focused skirmish. I played a "multiplayer skirmish" alone just against heroes and it's quite fun. But I think there should be more. So here is my idea:

It's a little bit bigger, maybe to big for a patch, but I think it should be cool for a 10 bucks DLC.
As you, the devs, already mentioned: It's really hard to create an AI which has wo work totally different than the AI of the campaign. So I thought about something where you don't have to create a real AI. So I think it would be great to have something like a single player skirmish mode just against heroes.

There are heroes spawning from time to time and you have to defend something against them. Very simple: If they destroy the object you loose. Heroes are spawning more often the longer you play and they get stronger the longer you play.
The map should be huge so you have a lot of possibilites to build your dungeon. Because it's a DLC, there should be some new units, some new rooms, some new traps and so on. But the main goal is: Survive against hordes of heroes which get stronger the longer you play.
If the destroy the object you have to defend the game ends. The play time, the killed heroes and things like that give you a score which is shown on a leaderboard so you can see who is the best "solo skirmish mode" player.

I think for a DLC this should be possible. The foundation is there. You just have to add this game mode, leaderboards and some new objects. And I think that would be an improved version of the skirmishes that are now possible for solo play. I would definitly buy something like this!

This is actually what I expected when I read there was a skirmish mode in the game....

Done the skirmish mode a couple of times with my friend, where this time in the capture point/flag room w/e he picked the Mage and i picked the Commander.
In the description of the Mage, it does sound pretty good but my commander wrecked his Mage, which is a bit unfair. It really doesn't seem very balanced.
Anyone else experienced this? Or what do you think is the best baal class?

I have no interest in the campaign, just in solo play in skirmish/sandbox mode. And this game is not remotely like DKII. I wasted $20.
