Is there a way to determine spawners from any standing independant army based on radar? I'm color blind, so if they are a different color I am not seeing it.

It's really annoying to find a spawner nest, then leave LOS and forget where it is because it's surrounded by other independent stacks sitting around. Native Threat Locator only shows threats under fog of war, so it's not useful here.

Also in case anyone knows... how active are the spawners around the whole map? Does every spawner trigger a marauder during the entire game, or does a player have to come within range before they come "awake"? And can a spawner spawn more than 1 stack.

i think the only difference on radar is that player units (and NPC faction *attack* armies) show up as red exclamation marks with brackets, everything else is a yellow signature.

I am not sure about the spawners AI. Note that they can spawn from NPC faction missions.

Actually I was able to answer my own question! I didn't understand your reply so I switched to Military view to see if I could figure out what you meant, and there is a dedicated icon for Spawners in Military view :)

that works when they are within vision, but for pure scanner I'm pretty sure seeing the Faction of stuff on Scanner is required which is in the latter half of the Covert Ops tree.

No, this works when they are outside vision, but inside scanner range. As long as you have spotted them at one point in the past (i.e. not under FoW) it retains the spawner icon, which is the scenario I was asking about in the OP.
