this mod looked really cool but I can't get it to work (CTD on character start) with my crusader kings game. the latest version of the mod I could find was two patches old (1.6.2). is the mod dead or am I just bad at looking?

Being worked on. Just always a few versions behind.
 
It is now updated in the repository, including the above mentioned fixes.
 
It is being updated slowly, but surely.
