So as i found out, some time (and patches) ago, it was possible to play as Ikko-ikki. This, however, was change for some reason. I could understand if they would be unplayable - without modding. But sadly it seems that no amount of modding is going to work. Moreover - even the console command won't work any more. Can anyone share some information on this ? Is there a proper DLC coming making rebels playable or what ? And while waiting, does anyone know in which patch this was "fixed" since i can't read any mention of this in the so-called "changelog" ?

Thank you !

On a similar note. For example in CKII 1.06 patch muslims were made unplayable because of the SoI DLC/expansion - which i can totally understand. That's why i'm asking if there is DLC coming for Sengoku.

That the Ikko-ikki were playable were an oversight from our side and to avoid bugs related to it it was fixed in a patch. I don't remember which though, and there are no DLC planned for it.

With modding, you can easily change the rebels to playable factions. Please check my mod and 1180 scenario, and you will find playable buddhist and shinto factions, though they aren't supported intentionally.

Thanks, this really gives me hope.

While i do understand the amount of work and effort that have been put into this game i had some serious issues with this game, keeping me from registering. Counting myself among Paradox fans and veteran modder, i couldn't mod the simplest things, leaving me puzzled. Once i get the access to those forums (to also report punch of bugs) i will probably get answers to most of my questions. But it is bit counter-productive and discouraging to make it invisible. I mean i can read Victoria II and Hearts of Iron III mod forums and that is the reason i'm going to get both of those games (once i get a PC capable running them). Even the somewhat disturbing bugs i have encountered might have been fixed in beta patch or some unofficial fix-pack. But i have absolutely no idea since i can't see it. On the positive side i did get Sengoku because of the legacy graphics mode.

To sum this thread up, i would say that i wish that Sengoku won't get abandoned and would get some love from the developers in form of DLCs. I mean there's lot to add to this already ... good game. Think expanding map to north-east (Hokkaido), south-west (Okinawa) and making rebels playable. There was actually a plausible chance ending feudalism few centuries earlier and that would have truly united Japan. It probably would have not been called shogunate though. I would prefer official love (along the lines different EU Rome forms of government) for modding to be honest. Ikko-Ikki didn't operate like clans and it would be really nice to be able to play as them. Even if it wasn't planned at first. It probably won't happen, i know, i just felt like expressing my thoughts.

Anyway, thanks for your attention. I really appreciate people replying to me in this quiet forum, especially by you Captain Gars ! Thanks.

Please note that CK2 is the first game using the new DLC strategy by Paradox. Sengoku belongs to the old games, so a new expansion kit is more plausible if the developers will add some features.

Actually, muslims were never playable in CK2 before SOI unless you used mods.
