************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
    <system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

I've already reinstalled it a few times and keep getting the same error. Pretty stumped by it, which caused me to actually join the forum and register the game to check it out.

As VV is available only as download (as far as I know) there should be no problem. I suggest you re-post this in the tech support sub-forum (which is available now that you've registered your game). Or perhaps one of the sticky-threads there already have a solution to your problem?

EDIT: Especially you might want to take a look at the first sticky thread in the tech forum, and the fourth post in that thread :)

It never give me any trouble as Rome 1.3 CD with VV downloaded about 8 weeks later. Remove both programs Rome and VV. Then put in Rome and see if it will play. If it does play, reboot and put in VV. It is a pain in the rear but worked for others. Did Rome 1.3 ever work properly before you put in VV?

I would also update your windows, drivers, and codecs too.

Where is the CD-Key on the actual hard copy of the game anyways? EU3's was on the paper disc slip for it, but it doesn't seem to be the same for this one. I've got the CD, it's box, and a slip of paper with the system requirements on it. I'm guessing I can't access the tech support forum until I register the original game. My copies of Victoria and Crusader Kings are the same way, except Crusader Kings actually has an instruction manual. I guess that's why they were all at a close-out store for $6?

The original version of the game worked for me, it was the main reason I went out to purchase the expansion. I tried uninstalling it and then restarting and reinstalling it a few times but I get the same error.

EDIT: I just went back to the store I got it from (I work there so I get a good discount) and just purchased another copy after making sure it's CD Key was there. It's really bizarre that the other one did not have it.
