G'Kar, what AI_switch files are supposed to do? I copied a save from DDA 1.1 (with DAIM and a couple other mods) to a clean install of DDA 1.2. While loading I was had a lot of errors considering these switches, when I copied them from DAIM these errors were gone.
Will DAIM work now, or do I have to copy all the other files as well? Which ones are responsible for AI behaviour?
Thanks.

Okay.
1.2 is supposed to improve AI in it's own way, will I lose that if I install DAIM?
If the Major nations are involved, yes. Other improvements ( France as an example ) are untouched

Spocky

Others have said that no AI files were changed in 1.2, just the executable. Since DAIM *only* affects the AI files, it should work just fine.

Playing as Great Britain, I got up to March 1940 or so and suddenly the USSR declares war on Germany despite having the Molotov-Ribbentrop pact (and France being unconquered). This effectively ruins the game I had hoped to have so I hit nofog to see what was up.

Germany has less then 120 divisions. I have no idea what they spent their money on. Factories maybe? (they have a base IC of 210 with Poland) Certainly not ships or, so far as I can tell, airforce. I didn't load up Germany to see.

This doesn't seem normal to me for DAIM.

To be honest it doesn't sound like DAIM to me at all. Did you update to v1.2 while the game was in progress? Then you'd probably have overwritten DAIM files as well.

No. I did a clean install for 1.2 and then installed DAIM over it. I began a brand new game. Germany, apparently, spent all it's time building industry and only had a little over 110 divisions around March of 1940. That's when the USSR declared war and I simply quit the game.

You have seen the events that DAIM has been correctly installed ? Otherwise I only can guess that the German AI has been fallen asleep in 1936, a very rare error.

Spocky

I've had the same problem. Well not the same, but GER didn't attack SOV until april 25th 1942, when SOV war decced GER.

oh, and italy captured paris instead of germany in this game. germany captured belgium and netherlands. they tried a few offensives but it didn't work.

I'll run a handsoff tomorrow to see if it is a systematic problem or just bad luck. Maybe there are 1000 people running 1.2 plus DAIM right now but not telling it. Well, maybe not. :)

Hmm.... I just posted this thread about how easy Germany was to beat by France!

Maybe there is an issue?
I agree with those saying in the thread that it isn't a big surprise that you can hold off and ultimately beat Germany as France. If you know what you're doing, it's just a matter of time as long as you're not using really harsh house rules.

I made a similar experience myself, with a much earlier version though.
