Issue loading mod

Hey, today I installed Imperator on another computer and an issue I've gotten is that mods dont load properly. The mod can partially load (a change to the province file seems fine) but won't load it all properly either causing a crash or some missing files. For example for testing I downloaded the Emendatio Historiae Imperatoris and there was no land, only water.

The way I know something is wrong with the loading is that just moving the entire mod files into the game folder directly makes everything work just fine. Also on crashes it says it cant locate the crash folder, even though it does create a crash folder, just not the folder inside it that holds the crash log, which is essential to bugfixing mods.

Has anyone had a similar issue? I couldn't find anything by searching.

If you moved Documents from your C drive that may be the issue. There are other solutions but here's what solved it for me:

It seems that the game struggles with computers who moved their Documents location. So you need to reset it as shown above for mods to work.


I've seen other solutions that worked here on the forums, modifying game reg or something.

That specific change didn't help it but you were right it was an issue with my Documents folder. Turns out because I have an 'ö' in my name some part pointed to right folder and some other to an incorrect one. Was able to fix it by changing my username to something without an 'ö', wasn't exactly hassle free. Have had two separate issues with documents folders on both my computers...
