Hello everyone!

I'm currently having an issue when I start Stellaris upon fresh installation! An error occurs related to Microsoft C++! Do you guys have any idea on how to solve this?

That looks like you are trying to run some Microsoft installer, you shouldn't see that from running Stellaris from Steam. At that point we are trying to install our launcher, nothing to do with VC++.

It's not impossible the Windows installation services are so broken that it is running the wrong install.

Try installing these manually:

(run dxsetup.exe after extracting from this download)

THEN go here:
And run the x86 and x64 installers there.

Do those 6 installers all run okay? Any error or problem?

Hi @AndrewT!

I have managed to fix this issue by uninstalling a number o Microsoft installations. I followed this advice:

Hi Khatrimm, have you installed the Visual C++ redistribute 2015 on your computer? If so, please try to uninstall it, run the tool: support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/17588/…. After that, re-run the VS 2017 installer, right click the icon beside 'Launch' and choose 'Modify' or 'Repair'.

Anyway thanks for your help! :)
