Water.
We have only two sources of water - deposits and vaporators. And water is THE most valuable resource from my experience, mostly because expansion requires vast fields of upgraded vaporators to support domes and farms.
We need more sources of water. Water asteroids, buildings, installations, even limited functionality would help. You start with vaporators and you end with vaporators, they are here from early to late game with water extractors as the only alternative.
Gambling
The only source of gambling in the game is Casino building. No 3-hex or 1-hex alternatives. It is almost mandatory because penalty for comfort is so severe that absense of casino barely can keep colonist from turning earthsick.

Water asteroids already help by increasing global water content and boosting vaporators. Both water-from-nothing and water-from-deposit are already there. More buildings would be a reskin of the same mechanics.

I have never found casinos (or art/electronics shops) necessary, ever. Use living quarters and provide enough decorations, food service buildings, and infirmaries, and you're set.

IIRC colonists should only need gambling specifically if they have the gambler flaw. Otherwise it's just a large building that can be used in place of art and electronic stores to satisfy luxury and gaming needs.

As for water, I think the issue isn't that all there is are Vaporators and extractors, it's that chances for extractors are so rare that you are incentivized to pretty much rely entirely on Vaporators... and since they are a prefab building, you can.

I've been wondering how the early game would be if you had a cap on how many prefabs you could get (like 3 at once, refreshing every at 1 every 10 sols) and perhaps have MOXIEs included as a prefab. It would make farms for the sake of producing oxygen and water deposits a lot more valuable than they are now, but without making water deposits more available, I'm not sure if it would do anything more interesting than slow the early game down.

It bothers me that you can draw water out of the air with Vaporators, them use said water to fill lakes to evaporate water... to boost the effectiveness of your vaporators so they can create more water than they put in. I mean, I know they are literally designed to create water out of thin air, but that is creating water out of nothing. At the very least, they should impede water terraforming via lakes, if not have a negative effect, until a certain threshold (or several thresholds among each of the parameters) are met.
