I get the "I would make a better chancellor" event and if I choose to be generous to my courtier, it doesn't decrease my gold. I think this was working earlier in the same game, before I saved and reloaded, but I'm not sure. Not sure how saving and reloading would cause events to not work anymore either.

scale effect just after reload have strange results because the game is not very good at calculating what your yearly income is supposed to be. It becomes normal again after a year in game.

Did that happen to you just a couple of days (game time) after a reload ?

Cat

PS: It's the same for "good" event (like mariage duty)...

I'm not sure, but I think it was still happening like 10 years after the reload. I'll check next time I reload and see if the effect still happens a considerable amount of time later.

Just had this happen again. This time it was toward the end of a long but relatively uneventful session, about 12 years in game-time. I got the event, choose to be generous, but my gold didn't go down.

EDIT: P.S. I did get an increase in gold when I got the marriage duty thing. I've also gotten events during wars where a regiment is supposed to go home because I couldn't pay them, but they kept on fighting instead.
