In my USA game, I started an island-hopping campaign around mid-1942. I started going for just the islands that had VPs and/or ports and/or airfields; the other islands are not significant enough to waste time killing the garrisons. It was then that I noticed that the AI had put Garrisons on these worthless islands without VPs, airfields, or ports, but did not have Garrisons on islands that did have these. Is there a way to tweak the AI to make better choices on where it puts its defenses? If it has a choice of putting a Garrison on Truk vs some no-name island with nothing on it, it should probably choose Truk.
