why do colonists keep switching jobs even after i manage to manually assign them? I keep seeing botanists extracting minerals and geologists farming in the farms. what am i supposed to do ?

I have the exact same question. Because switching to a job that isn't their specialization gives a performance penalty, And not working in your specialty would lower your morale too now wouldn't it? What gives?

Join the club, baffling design decision. Seems like everyone hates it.

Hopefully they'll address it soon because it's ridiculous.

Is it a design decision or a bug? Given that colonists seem to hate not working in their speciality it baffles me why this would be a deliberate choice.

I think its part of the game mechanics in which it triggers the flaws and then you have to build the other buildings in order to correct the flaws developed cause of unhappiness and etc from a colonist working in a job that they are not specialized in or enjoy doing it.

Someone screwed up in the game mechanics part. Its so annoying. Hope they patch it soon and re-think this.
