another aspect you may want to touch for us greener enthusiasts in a future stream is how mission failure, while not encouraging, is less impactful than other similar styles of mission based games, (xcom). Even showing ejections, and tactical retreat effects on the mercenary unit. Showing this may help fence sitters with coming aboard.

you could even discuss the tactical advantages of when and/or why it would be more beneficial to do such, than outright failing the mission.

I hope that demonstrating how failing missions works happens "organically" during these presentations.
"Oh, look, the pilot of my heavy has been killed by a lucky shot during the opening salvos. Let's talk about retreating."

Really looking forward to the stream! Thank you HBS and Paradox for these streams, I think that they strike a really good balance between offering new information for us who have been going over every little detail in every screenshot and bringing new fans up to speed. And I´m especially looking forward to hearing more about the campaign, which for me is a really crucial part of the package.

I was looking for how less devastating the loss will be to the campaign, compared to games like X-com, and how in this game it can make strategic sense for people who do not follow threads here. :) sorry if I was confusing.

Until this thread, I was unaware that Central Europe contained the majority of Battletech backers.
Good on them, I for one look forward to calculating CEST, since there is no challenge in using HBS time since I am in the same zone.

Disagree with that, you need to discuss the reason for doing things rather than just showing that things can be done. And every step last week covered certain strategy angles that needed to be covered. If we had discussed something at length then did it and sat quiet while the action played out then maybe it would have been different, but that was not the case.

You don't have to sit static while you discuss possibilities and whys. you can be dynamic while having a continuous conversation and explanation of why you might pick something. the Yogscast crew did an excellent job like this. Your stream I gained nothing looking at the video for the first half hour. You can cover strategy and explanations as you are doing things.

I believe it's more about Paradox being in Europe.
If I'm calculating correctly 1800 CEST is:
1200 EST
0900 PST (Seattle)

Someone chime in if I'm wrong

I had not expected a “Mercenary Campaign” / MercSIM stream from Paradox.

I am very excited to finally get a feel for BATTLETECH’s Campaign Mode. I really had thought we might have to wait for Launch for the visuals and commentary coming our way tomorrow. : )

Good @cKnoor, any teasers as to who might be joining you on the broadcast tomorrow?

Come on now, I was pretty clear at the start of the video that it wasn't for you. And one again, I can not cover things if I am doing something else on screen, the disconnect between talking about initiative order while trying to find the perfect place to place the Spider does not a good basic video make. It seems like you just want the video to be something I clearly stated at the start that it wasn't and can't get passed that. I'd urge you to just suck it up and get past it.

I'll be talking to Mitch and Kiva

Let's not scare off the devs and publishers willing to interact with us. They heard the feedback of those of us that thought the first stream was a little pedantic.

Excellent. Be sure to ask Kiva how the HBS in house tournament is going. :D

I wouldn't want to spend a lot of time on that in this specific video given that we've only got an hour to tour the Argo.

Let's get that out of Kiva somewhere else - pester on Twitter? :D
