Really been enjoying 2.0, loved the game since Menander update and very glad to see its still getting improvements, hope the community stays and the devs keep giving us great updates.

I've been trying to do a Judea run which is going to be difficult of course but there's gotta be some way to do it, aiming broadly for the Jewish achievements. I had some success rushing Nabatea early and expanding along the eastern edge of the Red Sea but I quickly get sandwiched between Egypt and the Seleukids. Kush was a valuable ally for crippling Egypt but I seem to have no chance against the Seleukids. Part of it's probably just luck in the Diadochi beating eachother up and slowly building up and grabbing land, but the end date sneaks up on you quick.

Anybody have any luck with Judea? Stategies you want to share?

I find it too difficult and theres pretty much nothing unique for the jews, hoping for a DLC that will focus on them, or at least in the general region, thus far everything is diadochi related.

I started by Improving Egypt's Opinion of me, then Summoning my War Council on October 2 for a Cassus Belli on Antigones, then giving Egypt a gift, and Egypt allied sent me an alliance offer within a couple months. Next, I hired a Merc with over 10 Martial Skills, led a war on Antigones with Egypt as my ally, and besieged Antigones' forts/cities in Philistia and Gadara, and leave the bulk of the fighting to Egypt.

Next, I'm left with a dilemma of whether to
  1. Occupy as much of Antigones' land as possible, especially in Syria, until I have a 100 war score, or
  2. Try right away to occupy Antigones' capitol's whole province before Egypt or the Seleucids occupy any of it (the Seleucids can get it in a peace deal if they have any of the province's territories). Then make Antigones' kingdom into my client state when his rivals like the Selucids occupy enough of his land so that I wouldn't need to have over a 100 war score (the maximum allowed) to clientize Antigones.
Strategy #2 is optimal, because even after the Seleucids take big chunks of Antigones' land, he still has more than I can take as my own directly in a peace deal. That is, it costs less War Score points to clientize someone than to acquire their land directly.

My challenge with Strategy #2 is that Antigones is too big for me to clientize until the Seleucids take a big chunk of his land in a peace deal. And when the Seleucids make their peace deal with Antigones, Antigones' capitol shifts from Antioch to one of his unoccupied territories, even if I occupy Antioch and the Seleucids neither occupy nor acquire Antioch. Further, when Antigones' capitol shifts from Antioch to an unoccupied territory, that territory seems to usually be closer to Egypt's troops than to my own. eg. One time it moved to Palmyra and I got it first, but on the other two playthroughs, Antioch's capitol moved to Alginas (in the sea and I don't have a navy because I'm landlocked), and Berytas (close to Egypt's troops).
