I know that GSG are made on a lot of simplification but it would be very wrong to model the Greek colonisation of the Mediterannean like in EU IV with the Americas.
The period in general would be quite hard to work with since in much of Europe you don't have large states ; I remember there was a small island in the Kyklades which had 4 different cities as an extreme exemple.
It would need another model, very different from the war focus of EU IV to make it work with some degree of historicity but it would be interesting to see a studio try it :)
I could see a version based off of the ck2 engine, with a barony being playable, exploration/discovery mechanics, the new HOI4 combat system (including naval), and trade routes being dynamic/automatic (with player influence of course). 3 city states on an island, all independent and in the same county, fighting over trade rights, sounds about right.

Yea thats cool . Ancient history is more interesting for me. Culture of people was more developed than middle ages. You had to re-arrange cultures, ,technologies, ideas etc. with good researching. for example : scythians were nomads but they had powerful army, trade efficiency(controling silk road),gold trading, diplomacy with greeks and around cultures etc. you cant say %175 tech for them :D

When you say city-building, do you mean a Zeus&Poseidon-like city building with better diplomacy and military mechanics? Because I'd very much be into this.

I think if paradox made an "Ikariam-ish" game , that was modified for singelplayer it could work quite well. (If you don't know what Ikariam is, it's one of those multiplayer city building, pay to win games, were upgrading a building could take many "Real" days.)

You should only be abel to have a certain amount of cities, and the more you get, the more resources you need to use or else there will be corruption in your cities. I know that Ikariam not really is super in depth, but if paradox made something like that I feel it could work really well. Since the concept of Ikariam is good, but it's made as a MMO, instead of a singel player game.

So if we got a combination of Cities Skylines + CK2 + Ikariam, I think it would have potential to be a really good game.

An ancient world game should cover entire Eurasia and most Africa, have the gameplay of EU Rome + Crusader Kings 2 (tribes) + Europa Universalis 4 Migrations and colonization + Victoria 2 Pop and HoI4 military

Have you guys played Pre-Civilization Marble Age? It's basically the exact same concept.
