I just got the game from gog. I plan a Brazil playthrough and then porting to DH 1.06 beta.
Some questions. How important is HoD DLC? I don't plan to expand into Europe or Asia. I may grab some African territory or not. I want to gain all my cores, annex Uruguay and Paraguay. Obtain a pacific port, probably part of Peru. And puppet Venezuela. Then just sit back and build Brazil into a USA equivalent before porting over and running the grand campaign mod 1914-1991.
Is HoD important for this plan? Is there a good mod you guys would suggest?
As an unrelated question, how to I register V2? I only see a way to do it for steam which I do not and will not use.

It's an expansion, not a DLC.
You need all two expansions to get not only all content, but patches too.
There are basicaly no mods anymore for Vic2 without HoD.
Whatever you mean with "then porting to DH 1.06 beta", it's likely not possible without HoD.

You can't, but there is no need to.
Many, many years ago it was still possible with a code, for example when buying a non-Steam game from Gamersgate, but not anymore.

PS: In the current Beta-state of the new (and coming?) forum account, the old option to "Redeem a Code" is still around, so they might be plannig
something in this regard...or not.

I have "A House Divided" is that the other expansion you refer to?

I was looking for the registration because I didn't see the mods section and thought maybe I had to register to get access to mods and tech support. Iirc, that is how it was in the old days. I will take your advice and get HoD this weekend. Thanks.

By "porting" I mean converting to Darkest Hour and continuing the campaign. Brazil will be first to the moon. :D

Yup, that was the first expansion.

Having an account should suffice, unless they changed something again and i missed it, but i doubt it.
I never synchronised with Steam either and only had registered games with codes back in the days.
They don't create new badges for games for about two years now.

When you are logged in the forum view should look like this or similar (depending on the style you choose in Preferences):
See "User Modifications" and "Tech Support" ?

it certainly looks different than it used to in the old days. Subforums are also easier to miss.
Last forum reform was crap in my opinion. Maybe it was the intention to reduce traffic Who knows..

Ah, cheers, not familiar with converters for that nor with the game, but i'd bet you'd need both expansions.
Should be mentioned in the appropriate converter thread. Big mods are probably incompatible with the converter.

If you have any questions left that Paradox support can answer better than me, then you can either
- open a ticket at the Helpdesk (log-in with forum account)
or
- create a thread on the ForumHelp subforum (regarding technical forum questions)
