I've played quite a few games recently, and in every one, the Aztecs arrive, dream of conquest, perform up to 3 invasions, then just sit there. Still dream of conquest, defensive pact or not, they just sit there for decades on end with about 6 provinces and 140k troops. I feel this is just a bit daft, and was wondering if there was a way of forcing them to actually be a threat to the world.

they have a 5 year timout between invasions, and they need, iirc, 500 prestige. Sometimes AI get's stupid and ends up with negative prestige and doesn't do anything about it. I've seen them take portugal and spain and the get fucked by muslim states. But I've also seen them taking british isles, france, and HRE. So anything can happen really.

I guess I could tweak that with a game rule.

I guess I've had different experiences since the last updates. Before, the Aztecs would sit in 2 or 3 counties with a mass amount of troops and just look intimidating.

These days? I've seen them overrun western Europe, west Africa and even start making forays into central Europe.

In my last game they conquered Spain,France, Jerusalem, Byzantium, England, Ireland and Island. They just completely destroyed Christians while ignoring Muslims. Spain was Christian before they arrived.
