I bought a copy of Victoria and Victoria Revolutions from Gamersgate. Seemed like a good thing to do while I'm waiting for some other games to patch/release.
Anyway, I'm not having too much luck right off.

FYI: I'm on a Win-7 (64 bit) machine. I downloaded Victoria, installed it, patched it to 1.4, then downloaded Revolutions...per the instructions on how best to load the game.

I can choose between two resolutions 12xx/10xx (whatever it is) which is the native resolution for my monitor...which seems to indicate that it should be perfect for my game.
...but when I play the game on the higher resolution, the sliders controls don't seem to line up with the slider bars. Odd. And confusing.
I switched to the lower resolution 1xxx/768 (whatever) and it seemed to fix the problem.

I advanced 45 days or so and got a message about my navy where I need to make two choices. And the message says to hold my mouse over the choices to see what the choices do (pretty standard for Paradox games).
...but, when I hold my mouse over the choices, empty boxes appear...no text inside at all.
That's the only "choice" box I have so far so I don't know what the future holds...but I'd hate to have to make all my future choices without any information to base them on.

Bummer.
