How do I play as the smaller nations? Right now I can only play as a few of the mains. I've tried starting then saving and reloading but it doesn't work. Do I have to edit something?

Right-click on the flags in the screen where you choose nation.

Can you help me? I'm not able to get my bar-thing with the intelligence stuffs and diplomacy-stuffs in the left corner, it's still covering the whole screen, like in the Hearts of Iron II games. Have I done something wrong during the installation, or do you know if there's anything I can do to fix it?

Resolution problem. Try using your native resolution (AFAIK, in 1024x768 it will fit the whole screen)

So quick questions. What countries can go national populist via event?

USA (through multiple events), AUS (obviously), Armenia, Qing, Japan, Germany(? I can't remember if choosing the KR equivalent of the Nazis makes you Nat Pop or not), Brazil, Chile, and probably some others I can't remember ATM.

Russia can also go National Populist either by choosing Wrangel right off the bat, or by choosing a few specific events with Dmitri Romanov as Head of State.

You're right about Germany (I think it's the DDVP party or something like it), and I would add Russia, Bulgaria and Argentina!
Mongolia probably to?

Also Argentina, Mongolia, Russia, South Afirca.

Don't forget Spain (Carlist Spain), Free France, Italy, Finland, Hungary, Poland, Lithuania, Poland-Lithuania, Serbia, Romania, Greece, Whiteruthenia. These nations all have specific events which pushes them to the far right.

What I wanna do, and tell me if I can or not, is play as austria, form either the danube unione or the AH Empire, abolish the monarchy and then put the National Populists in power.

..... No? This is Kaiserreich, you know :p

No. That's not possible. Austria-Hungary was bound together by the monarchy.

While we're doing wish lists, may I chip in something? I wish there was a simpler end to the war after German capitulation-- if I succeed as the Commune or another Syndie state and manage, after spending years of focus on IC expansion and building more land troops, to completely roll over Mitteleuropa on the Continent, the German capitulation means that the war doesn't end and won't end for a few more years, until I can build up my own navy again, play cat-and-mouse with the remnants of the Imperial German Navy and then work to track down all the VP provinces in Africa and the Pacific that are still controlled by Germany. It's not hard, it just takes a long time.

Got a question everyone; when playing as Austria and at the first ausgleich what is the difference between federating the dual monarchy and maintaining the status quo? It looks to be almost the same, with Austria keeping its puppets etc. Thanks!

Federation means that EVERY part of the Empire becomes a puppet of Austria (meaning Croatia, mostly, which is a Hungarian puppet). It doesn't change anything, except for that.

Status quo means status quo. Nothing changes (Croatia remains puppet of Hungary)
