The French Empire 1836-1841

France started 1836 in an alliance with the Two Sicilies, ruled by Bourbon cousins. We started with a good balanced industrial base which the government quickly expanded. A solid pro-growth industrial policy has produced a reasonable daily income in 1841, with minimal taxation and no tarfiffs. Education was set as a priority for the French people. We recognize other Nations superior literacy is a technological advantage.
France must not be left behind!

France began a policy of upgrading infrastructure by beginning a modest RR network in key provinces. Rail will soon cover all key areas of France.

France selected to protect Egypt after a Declaration of War by The Ottoman Empire. In order to protect Egypt from future aggression, France let her join the Franco-Sicilian alliance. We began a modest colonial project in Afrique.

Our Bourbon cousins in Spain dealt with a long and protracted civil war throughout the period. Once Catalonian rebels declared their independence, we deemed it prudent to put down further revolts. Spain was allowed into the Bourbon alliance. A 3 division army was sent to free rebel held provinces in Spain. The Spanish Civil war ended with the Two Sicilies annexing Catalonia. (Which we would have done had we known the Ai was going to - should have been paying better attention )

On the International front we enjoyed (very) brief conversations with the Russian Prime Minister Katmaiyovsky, in meetings on state yachts off Istria. The English and Prussian Prime Minister were also in semi-frequent contact.

Regards,
Duc Charles Monet de Bourbon
Prime Minister of France

Prussian Empire: 1836-1841

The first priority for this small but powerful nation is it’s economy, therefore the unprofitable arms related factories were closed. Prussia starts off with a healthy supply of Mparts, a good thing as the UK implemented a Mparts trade ban. The fabric, steel, and lumber factories were upgraded while a new steel, clothes, furniture, and liquor factories were built. Once the new factories were up Prussia was making between 22 and 27 pounds a day. Good enough for now. Once tech, and the Mparts it brought, allowed it the clothes, fabric, lumber and Clothes factories we upgraded. With these complete profit rose nicely, and spending was adjusted so that 30 pounds a day were made.

Surrounded by possible threats, military power was Prussia’s second concern. At the sessions end we had the 3rd largest mil score in the world. Most of these are reserves, but now that the economy is on track standing troops are the next concern. The world saw a few wars in the last 5 years. Ottomans struck a status quo peace with Egypt, the UK Honk Kong and another Province from the Chinese, and Mexico and the US are at war as well. Mexico was doing quite well, and was in fact winning. UK intervention soon turned the tables and sad days are ahead for the brave Mexicans.

Prussia has the third most extensive rail network of the human nation and with this gives Prussia te number 1 industry score. The future is paved with rail and Prussia is planning to span its empire with them.

At sessions end Prussia is the worlds Second power and I’m pleased.

1842-1846 Austria

Austria built a paper factory, an ammunition factory, and a fetilizer factory. The rail line was extended towards the Russian border. The economy was in good shape with a 40-50 pound a day surplus.

It was decided that to gain respect in the eyes of the World's powers that Austria must gain oversea colonies, and so two Tunisian coastal provinces were siezed.

Towards the end of this war, Sardinia-Piedmont, viscously and without provacation invaded her small and defenseless neighbors. Austria of course, selflessly came to their defense, crushing it with over sixty divisions. 3/5ths of Sardinia-Piedmont was annexed and Parma was liberated. To placate the nervous French, the remanant of Sardinia-Piedmont was afirmed to be in France's sphere of influence to do with what she would.

The army was then demobilized and a hefty war debt paid down, while much technology was gained in trade with Bavaria. Despite our great gains Austria held steady as the World's sixth strongest power.

Russia 1842-1846

After expanding peacfully into the Pacific, with a colony in New Guinea, and Trading posts in Western Africa, we decided to espand to the south and annex the Uzbehkistans & Turkmenis.

We watched the British & their Ottoman lackeys swallow up the Egyptians, the Austrians, Prussians, & French take parts of North Africa. We contuined to build our RR's and factories, and hope to live peacfully with our neighbors.

the History of France 1842-1846

Expansionist Austria declared war on Tunis, prompting the French government to annex Algeria. Austria declared war on Sardinia-Piedmonte depsite universal European condemnation. Multilateral war plans were being drawn against the action as a peace was signed by Sardinia-Piedmonte. Austria slightly eased tensions with France by reforming the Bourbon Duchy of Parma.

French infrastructure was improved by further building railroads in key provinces. Several trunk lines are now in place. Industry was expanded and further helped income. Education spending was further increased.

The Boubon Family left France when the Monarchy was replaced with a Republic (though still in the form of an oligarchy.)

Prussian meddling in North Africa saw France gaining the province of Afrikya from Tunis. Prussia annexed the balance of what was left of Tunis. After much diplomacy between Paris and Berlin, an accord was reached so Prussia will sell her Tunsian provinces to France.

The state visit in yachts off Istria in 1840 turned fruitful as France and Russia entered a military alliance. The UK and the Ottoman Empre warred with Egypt. French Presse reported live from the Clipper Indochine.
The UK annexed several provinces and the Ottomans looked to be winning a complete victory against what remains of Egypt. Paris-Cairo relations had soured and an alliance was not renewed with Egypt.

Duc Charles Monet de Bourbon
Prime Minister the French Republic of Oligarchs

Prussian Empire: 1842-46

Prussia did not build any new factories in the last 4 years, but she did expand her rail network. Taxes and tariffs were switched around a bit. This allowed the same 30 pound a day income as before, but with greater spending in Crime Fighting and Education. I have dropped one place from 1st industrial power to second, but I’m only 3 points behind.

The reserve pile was increased in these few years to keep up with its neighbours leaving Prussia as the Worlds 3rd military power. I haven’t gotten around to recruiting more soldiers for my standing army yet, but I will soon enough.

There were a few wars in this session as well. The American-Mexican wars ended in favour of America and the UK. The Ottomans once more waged war on Egypt. This attempt is going much smoother for them. Much to the surprise of the world Austria attacked Tunis and gained to coastal provinces. Then to stop Austria from gaining further territory in Algeria France attacked and annexed the African country. Russia attacked and annexed Khiva. In a fit of Boredom Prussia attacked Tunis. To keep Prussia from gaining what was left of Tunis she also attacked. In the end France gained one of Tunis’ remaining provinces and Prussia the other two.

For the future Prussia plans on expanding her army and rail network, as well as building more factories. Second on the agenda is to sell her Tunis provinces to France, there rightful owners.

Prussia ends 1846 as the worlds 3rd power (America having recently usurped her 2nd world power status <_< )

Austrian Empire 1846-52

Went to War over Slesvig and gained Iceland, Greenland and the Danish Virgin Islands. I also gained a province in Jutland (Aarhus?), whichI sold back to the Danes for technology. There was much industrialization and railroad building. Made a terrible mistake by clicking too fast and not paying attention, resulting in trading America a coastal African coaling station for technology. Goal of next session is to regain that satation by 1854 by whatever means neccessary. That's when a trading post I'm building in the interior will be finished. With the coaling station I will be able to claim Mauritania.

Kingdom Of Russia 1846(?)-1852

We contuined to build our industry, expand our railroads, and start new friendships.

We agreed on new alliances with Persia & China. And watched in horror as the the UK and it's lackey's the Turks pummeled Mexico.

The Kingdom of France 1852-1858

A rather smooth and productive session. The SCNF now runs through all of France with rail upgrades in key provinces. France claimed it's first colony from scratch - Gabon. More colonies to follow. Increase education spending and technology developement.

Bonaparte became constitutional Monarch in a quick and bloodless coup d'etat.
Some idiot in the Foreign ministry signed an alliance with Sardnia-Piedmonte. We declined a call for help in favor of The Kingdom of the Two Sicilies. The Two Sicilies were able to over run Sardinia while French loaned troops took Turino. Italy is closer to a reality.

Franco-Russian relations were further improved with a continuing of a military alliance. London is under the assumption the world follows it's every whim. Austria and the UK are in a rather dangerous rift over The Two Sicilies. French policy is a viable Italian state led to unification by the Two Sicilies.

Tension becomes Europe.

Note: Hansmeister joined perm (after subbing me last week) as The Kingdom of the Two Sicilies (soon Italy :D .)

Kingdom of Russia 1852-1858

These years saw us Trying to keep peace with the Turks & Persians to our south.
We expanded our colonial holdings in Africa, and the Pacific.

We were shocked when the scurrilous Dutch declared war on us, which lead us to sinking many of their men and ships in the Java Sea and our creation of Russian Borneo.

We could care less what happens on the Italian peninsula between the numerous states, but will keep a watchful eye on events there as they relate to world at large.

Austria 1859-1867

A mostly peaceful period. Austria concentrated in building her industry and prestige and keeping domestic peace. There was a short non-decisive colonial war with Spain, and the Double-Monarchy was formed. In the South the Two Sicilies annexed most of Tuscany, their ext move will to be swallow the rest and attack our loyal Satelitte Parma, which will of course mean war. After a short false-war with Prussia a white peace was established and the Northern and Southern German Federations were formed. The first being a Prussian Satelitte and the 7th Greatest Power, the second being an Austrian Satelitte and the 8th Greatest Power. Austria slipped to 10th in this session because of lagging Prestige and Industry growth, although her military is top notch at 3rd, with the largest army in the world.

I think this should be moved to the Victoria AAR's where more people can see and commment on it.

The Prussian Empire: 1859-67

These few years started off grim for Prussia. Within a year her Mparts factory had burned down. After a year of saving a new one was built. It took so long because the Mparts factory had provided over a third of Prussia’s profit. Nothing more of importance happened economy-wise, as usual more railroads were built. Nearly all of Prussia's rail network is up to it’s max level.

The world was at war these few years. Twice Argentina was accosted by Peru and Brazil. Sicily annexed the rest of The Papal states as well as taking most of Tuscany, an act much maligned by Austria. The Confederate States of America were born, but America chose not to fight, leaving a dwarfed CSA to meek out an existence. Later America did attack and annex the CSA, and by treaty took out what remained of Texas. A small skirmish, some called it a “sham war” erupted between Austria and Prussia. It was resolved in a white peace, this act gave birth to the North German Confederation and the South German Confederation. Oddly the second new country was run by a Indian head of state. Some posturing on the part of the UK also occurred, with demands for the other countries to help share the burden of building the Suez canal. When no one obliged Britain threatened to stop any navy crossing the Canal. This was an empty threat as the Brits would have to declare war to stop such passage.

At years end Prussia is the Worlds 3rd power, having had a short stint as number 2. Being placed 1st in prestige, 2nd in Industry, and 6th in military power. She also shares the army tech lead with the UK. All in all Prussia is pleased.
