Key Activation Problem

I got The Old Gods expansion for Crusader Kings II after signing up for the Crusader Kings newsletter.

When I activate the key from the my games page, it says an unknown error has occurred when communicating with Steam.

What should I do?

You should redeem it directly on Steam instead, tha way you'll get a clearer error if there's still a problem.

Just paste your Steam Activation code into the +Add a Game area of the Steam client application, and the game will be available in your Steam Library in that Client to download and install.
