Also there is never the risk however small of a fleet and army sinking in a storm. How often in history were naval adventures completely ruined due to the weather, think of Charles V invasion of Tunis. Imagine how the prospect of that veteran, expensive, irreplacable, heavy army ending up at the bottom of the Med will colour ideas of crusading.

Anyone tried swimming in mail armour.

Perhaps that's why most people didn't wear'em when on a boat, heck they even took them off for river crossings I imagine, since most of them couldn't swim in the first place

Fighting thieves

Is this the only way to eradicate thieves once they establish it's guild in the province? Or can you use your army? Or other means?
