I agree, and I would think that Apulia, too, would be good for a human player now considering how it has done so well in the Baltic region.
There was a discussion during last session on whether we should be allowed or not to grab kingdom titles. I am good with whatever rule makes for an enjoyable game for the rest of you, but I think this matter should be settled before next session.
To a large extent I agree with Cheech that it would screw up the game if the focus of it becomes to collect as many kingdom titles as possible. (At least that was how I understood your position, Cheech, please clarify if I am wrong.) We will end up with all of Europe split between us and have the AI as vassals, and a map that doesn't look plausible at all.
Personally I find a lot of enjoyment in the way the game mechanics direct me in where I should go and which titles I should pursue. I'd rather not grab title claims at all, but recieve them the proper way through crusading, events and inheritance. There are plenty of ways to get loads of claims, admittedly not always the claims you would appreciate the most from the perspective of a powergamer, but I like to think that if I for some reason get a claim on a godforsaken place far away, well, that is one title i am going to fight for - maybe not right away, but in due time. To outright grab a title because it is strategically convenient, however, is like dowing without CB. It should be more expensive than it is, not only for kingdom titles, but for counties and duchies as well. Ideally, I would like to see title grabbing banned, with an exception for crazed rulers. They are, after all, not regulated by the rules of society, and free to make up their own claims as they please.
That is not to say that I have not grabbed any claims myself in this game, I grabbed some in Sweden in order to keep up with Denmark, but no Kingdom titles.
There are talks about adding multiple kingdom breakup events in the next patch, and I have previously argued that there should be a limit on how many Kingdom titles a player may hold (as opposed to grab) and still believe that this is the way to go to avoid a game end with a very limited amount of human controlled multiple kingdom behemoth realms. I mean its not the end of the world if you have to give a Kingdom away, you can keep it within the family if you like, so long as I get some colour variation on the screen.
