- There were different “tiers” of knights, with varying levels of prestige espeically in the 12th century with the rise of tournaments in Europe.
- This would be an upgradable trait that boosts prowess and prestige and maybe something else (a health boost?)
- It would be upgradeable akin to other upgradable traits by performing in tournaments and in battles as a knight.
- the three levels would be bachelor, knight and banneret
- Aditionally could be associated with the Chivalry cultural tradition, but that could be op and unbalanced
- I don’t have any alternatives for non-Western European cultures outside of France, England and the Western HRE.

You do know that with the Knighthood innovation people with a martial education can gain a prowess education?

Yes. This is more about the progression of knighthood ranks. The extra prowess comes from the fact that as the knight “ranks up’ he gains more soldiers/men following him. A knight banneret will lead his own knights under his banner (abstracted as prowess), while a bachelor or knight may have a smaller retinue of men and no knights instead.

Yeah. Actual knighthood with training, ranks and title should've been in the game for years.

It should probably be a Catholic exclusive thing. It could involve child education, from page to squire, and then once the character met some requirements, their ruler (or another Knight) could invest them with the title of Knight.

You could tie it to activities (King-tier rulers) appointing several knights in a ceremony.
