loaded Paratrooper save corrupts database

I saved a game while i had 3 German paratroopers loaded into transports. When I try and reload the game it gives me the following msg

Critical Error

Database mismatch

Do you still want to continue

abort retry ignore

if you ignore it loads and plays fine except when you drop the paratroops they appear on the province and stay in the planes. Your unit list now shows duplicate units. If you separate the transports they load onto one unit which when destroyed causes a CTD.

Save available if needed

Ah! Another client reffered to us by our friend the Vulture.

Thanks for the info I have refered others to this possible contributer to the save game problem. However some have said they get this save problem even when trying to load the save games that come with the game. Maybe what we have here is two different causes, and this is adding to the difficulty of pinning down the solution.
