there is not much gunpowder smell in early years of 36 GC :rofl: .

I think that what cause most lag is managing ic sliders.

well guys this is not just about geography and line speed, A friend a I are playing HOI2 in the same city, over the same provider (30 ms ping between us) on 4096/256 connections, and the game cannot be played at normal speed without lag. It is just something to do with the code, no more no less!

it is too bad that such a great game, so fit for MP doesn't have a decent MP code :(

Gotta agree here. Although I will add the following. In the MP games I have played I have witnessed the following:

1) Played at high speeds I fall behind almost immediatly
2) Played at below normal gameplay was indeed fine... and at pauses I would make up time on the host until I caught up
3) Despite this.... sometimes we would lose connectivity to each other for a brief period (5-10 seconds). We knew this because we were using voice as well.... when they stop talking and you look at your time it is frozen.... thenr econnects and you think everything is ok.... only to find out that you are now a week behind the host. I believe this had something to do with the provider as the host said he noticed network inactivity when this happened (and the inability to communicate). I am not a network guru so I don't have the cause for this but I am assuming something is interupting the signal completely for that brief period. Also to take into account is we are in the middle of winter here.... I don't know if this affects anything but have to assume that it is possible that freezing affects lines (power outages, demand increases/decreases. etc.)
4)following these 5-10 second pauses many times I would crash (not the host). Perhaps the problem is actually on my end (an application trying to search the internet?) or perhaps the game could not get back in sync.

Anyway just wanted to do my part in trying to help solve this problem.

Forget that, I run it as fast as I can. This possible problem with game speed related lag is a downer. In HoI 1 we rarely ran MP below fast! Sure it was hard some times, but getting my friends over to play on a regular basis was harder still and we tried to get campaigns completed in two or three nights of playing :D

i tried to play a mp game with my friend here in germany, we both have dsl at 1024/ 128 and we have lags whenever we play, first time we started a game it as ok, but then it was getting worst, in the first 2 minutes, there was a difference of some hours, but the difference increases every minutes!

so, the Host sees my actions in realtime, while I , the client have to wait until my time is at the time he was to see effect of my mouseclicks, but at that time, the host is again in the future.... its unplayable

Please Fix This, no matter who, paradox, or the cracks out there!

@ps, when i will play this game with a friend, i wont search for other guys with faster connection, copy that?
when i cant play with my friend, i do not want play anyhow!

This is all pretty useless unless we know the speed and the scenario/campaign you were trying to play.
