Hello, im here to suggest a lane system that ive seen in mods. I'm on console so im not able to use it. Basically theres this mod i've seen where you're able to pick where each individual lane can go. it basically forces traffic to change lanes earlier or makes it so cars that are trying to go straight don't get stuck behind cars that are turning. This would be a major help becasue i can't tell you how many times i have huge traffic jams because of cars that are going straight getting stuck behind cars that are turning. It also helps with merging, cars that are turning or merging on to a busy road/highway aren't able to do so because of vehicles that that are just hogging the immediate lane infront of them. This causes a backup in traffic that is trying to turn/merge because the ai is trying to follow the traffic rules and wont turn with all the cars driving in those lanes. Another thing about vehicles trying to merge is, sometimes a car that is turning right will try to turn into the lane that is furthest away from it instead of the lane closest to it causing it to wait for around 1-4 lanes of vehicles to turn, causing a backup. i think implementing this mod into the actual game could help with traffic a lot (which we all know is a problem) and would give us the ability to control how traffic flows to different areas/locations. now this could be on console already and i just haven't found it yet, but i have searched and searched and still cant find it. Thanks for reading and hopefully you guys implement this.

Hi, your suggestion is not bad but unfortunately development has ended for CS. I would like to help you with suggestions to help.
*By creative use of roads you can achieve similar results.
*Start a new map with unlimited money and everything unlocked to experiment in. Try placing a stretch of 6 lane road, add connection using a 4 lane road lets say to the right. You should get a dedicated turn lane turning right into the 4 lane road. If you then place another 4 lane road a bit down the 6 lane road to the left. Make sure there are a few nodes(the blue circles where cims change lanes) inbetween. You will get a dedicated turn lane to the left. In game, in a real city, that will make traffic use all lanes to weave to their destinations. Experiment all you want, you can delete the test map when done.
* I first noticed this when playing Island Hopping from Natural Disasters DLC. I built a 6 lane road across the islands. I alternated left on one island then right on the next. I built a roundabout at the end on the big island. Traffic used all lanes. I now often add a asymmetrical 7 lane road before the 4 lane to maintain 3 lanes going forward.
*Experiment with asymmetrical lanes they are quite handy.
*Experiment with the various road types and how they interact with each other. There is often what you need in the game.
*Remember to use lane hierarchy to guide cims where you want them to go.
* Youtuber onejasonbrady has videos on lane manipulation using the built in road types. I highly suggest you watch. He focusses on what the game is doing not on how to cheat using mods.
* If you need help post again. Good luck.
