Laptop problem?

Hi,

I stumbled upon a weird problem, playing EU on my laptop.
It seems that the program interferes with my energy-control function. While playing it suddenly starts the standbye procedure of the laptop, shutting down my laptop! I have no likewise problems while using other software. Is this a known feature? Any solutions?

Or is the program just a bad loser, while I work France up to Economical world domination.

Some techspecs:
Runnen EU 1.09 US version, playing Grand Campaign, with France. Timeline at 163x something.
Laptop: FujitsuSiemens Lifebook, PIII 450 mhz, 128 MB and plenty of diskspace.

Hi

my knowledge with laptops kinda limited but what happens if you disable that energy feature on your laptop? does the problem go away? i know it is not a fix but at least we can confirm if it is realy the cause behind your problem

Hi,

Disabling Power management in Bios does the trick.
The forced shutdowns are now history and I can continue play.
Never seen such a problem before in a game. Any id what's causing it?

My bet is that windows is not 'seeing' the activity you're doing in the game. Moving the mouse, clicking, etc. So it thinks the computer is idle, & after the preset time has elapsed, it powers the box down to standby...
