Large statue placement?

Hi,

I'm trying to figure out large stone statue placement. It seems very random to me where I can place these large stone statues and where I can not.

I'm not having any luck figuring out what causes it to allow me to place them and what doesn't.

I go to place one of the two large statues and sometimes the outline box turns red, but there is nothing underneath it to block it, then I may move it 10 blocks away (or 2 blocks away or 5 blocks away or any number of blocks away) and it will have the green outline telling me that I can place it. Both blocks that I tried look identical so I'm not sure why it can be placed in one place but not the other.

Would somebody be so kind as to tell me the rules for placing these large stone statues please.

You need halls that are at least two tiles tall.

most likely you try to place them somewhere where the ceiling is to low

Yes it confused me at first but like ladders the thing is you need 2 vertical tiles of space. So order a digger to dig out the roof to make room.

You nailed it alright. It didn't even occur to me when it would allow me to place it that the area I was placing it was one block lower than the surrounding area.
